Device Squad: The Podcast for the Mobile Enterprise

Autonomous Cars with Anand Rao, Google Lead Counsel on their Self-Driving Car Project

Steven Brykman | November 28, 2016 | Device Squad In the News

In this episode of Device Squad, the podcast for the mobile enterprise, Steve talks autonomous cars with his old friend, Anand Rao, Lead Counsel at Google on the Self-Driving Car Project. They talk about the different levels of ‘autonomousness’ and the technological differences between cars developed by Tesla, Uber, and Google, as well as their respective marketing approaches. Additionally, Anand spills the beans on some formerly-top secret Google projects.

Anand gives his prediction on how long it’ll be before autonomous cars become more commonplace, and gets into the impact autonomous car technology will have on the world once it’s finally perfected (hint: it’s bigger than you think). Lastly, they discuss all the legal and technological issues around building a car that can drive itself in the first place.
